Hi! My name is Adam. I’m your friendly neighborhood Sasquatch! Legend says I’m elusive, but in truth I’m just a little off my rocker.

The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I’d hate that.

I mean business.

This is a picture of me at my 9 to 5. I never felt like I really fit in there. Can you relate?

You’re still reading?!?! Great! Here’s the run down.

I’m a pretty regular guy, I graduated college with a degree in Construction Management in 2010 and then I worked as a project manager in research and product development for the Aerospace industry

Now I’m retired, but I still have some side hustles to keep me busy.

Why did I F.I.R.E. (Financially Independent Retire Early)?

In my early 20’s, my eyesight started to fail me. I have a condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa, which slowly robs my vision. It felt like a ticking time bomb waiting to crush me. Instead of being a victim of circumstances I did something about it.

I made a plan, surrounded myself with supportive friends and family, and worked my butt off. In true F.I.R.E. style, I retired at age 32. I didn’t even realize what I was doing was called F.I.R.E.. I did it out of necessity. I had no idea there was a whole community of amazing people with their own reasons for wanting to escape the rat race. If your interested in exactly how I retired (FIREd) by age 32 check out my How I FIREd post where I go into the details and offer up some tips on how you can to.

This blog is about teaching you the skills to become Financially Independent as well as my personal journey navigating retirement, going blind, living life, and some of the big questions in life.

Goals

My biggest goal with this project is simply share my thoughts over time and to help others who may feel like the odds are stacked against them in life and show them there is a way to success.

I’ve had some challenges in my life that have forced me to take a very different path. Maybe we can learn from each other

Why a Sasquatch?!

I wanted this website to be about you and how you can reach your financial goals. For this reason I’m choosing to remain semi-anonymous at this time. The Sasquatch seems to be a fitting mascot, humble, elusive, clever, always on the move and hard to find. Growing up in the Pacific North West it was always fun to talk about how’d we’d capture Sasquatch should we ever find him!
